The Aulio sewing pattern includes two simple options: casual shorts and classic wide-leg trousers.
Both variations have a high elasticated waist with a cord casing. These timeless garments are quick and easy to sew, but comfy to wear for years to come!
They are suitable for beginners and as a first trouser pattern.

XS - XXL
Hip: 109 – 157 cm (42 7/8” – 61 3/4”)

Notions:
Fusible interfacing, 30 cm (1/4”)
2 cm (3/4”) elastic, your waist measurement
Cord for drawstring, your waist measurement + 80 cm/32”
Fabric Recommendations:
For both variations, choose either a light or medium-weight fabric, preferably drapey or with a slight drape. Good options include, for example: viscose challis and crepe, cotton lawn, or washed linen. You can buy ready-made cord for the drawstring, or sew a cord from your own fabric. Cord sewing instructions are included in the pattern.
Fabric Requirements:
150 cm / 60″ wide fabric:
Shorts: 80 – 130 cm (7/8 – 1 3/8 yd)
Trousers: 210 – 260 cm (2 1/4 – 2 7/8 yd)
115 cm / 45″ wide fabric:
Shorts: 115 – 175 cm (1 1/4 – 1 7/8 yd)
Trousers: 250 – 260 cm (2 3/4 – 2 7/8 yd)
Note: For patterned or napped fabrics, the fabric requirement may be higher.
