I’m beyond excited to finally be able to share that Admi’s stunning hand-printed fabrics are back in stock—after being unavailable for two whole years!

These beauties are extra special not just because they’re printed by hand, but because they carry a beautiful story behind them.

Designer Chiharu Hori, the heart and soul of Admi, has been on a journey of her own. After taking a break for maternity leave and focusing on raising her little boy, she’s back—bringing with her a new wave of artistic energy and intention that you can see and feel in every print.

Chiharu Hori - the Designer

Meet the Maker: Chiharu Hori

Chiharu grew up in what she calls the “countryside of Tokyo”—a place where mountain streams and wildflowers shaped her childhood. You’ll feel that natural inspiration flowing through her patterns.

After graduating from University with a degree in design, she traveled to India and instantly fell in love with woodblock printing. It wasn’t just the beauty of the process that moved her—it was also the people keeping the tradition alive. On hearing their stories, Admi was born from the dream of preserve this disappearing craft and sharing their specialised skill with the world.

Why Admi Feels Different

Have you ever held a fabric that just felt alive in your hands?

Admi fabrics are more than just aesthetically equisite — they’re filled with intention, connection, and skill passed down through generations.

Here’s some of what goes into each fabric:

It starts with the design Chiharu creates in Tokyo

➡️ then it gets passed to the artist who meticulously carves to woodblock and brings Chiharu’s vision to life

➡️ then the craftsperson who mixes the dye depending on the conditons of the day

➡️ the expert who skillfully and rhythimcally prints the fabric, using the block to layer the colours

➡️ and the person who washes the fabric multiple times before it comes to likfe in its final form

The result? A fabric that makes you feel something. A fabric that sings when you sew it into something special.

Because of the time and care each piece takes, only small batches are ever produced. These are fabrics to be cherished and turned into pieces that tell stories—just like the ones that brought them into the world.
