MAKUMO TEXTILES Limited Time Sale – Botan Yellow

This vibrant Botan Yellow print is only available for preorder for a short two week period, from 20 September to 3 October.

Botan means peony, and you can see the giant blooms spread across this striking design. In Japan, peonies are traditionally considered symbols of a fearless spirit, resilience and inner strength, thanks to their sturdy stem standing strong in often harsh weather. You’ll often see them paired with fierce figures like dragons, tigers or samurai to symbolise the balance between power and beauty. These statement making blooms strike that same balance, blending romantic, organic shapes with a boldness that instantly draws the eye and elevates your garments.

This print is full of life with tonal yellows that will start conversations everywhere you go! Get ready to say “thanks I made it!”

Each and every piece of these fabrics are hand printed in the designer’s atelier. Fabrics can only be dyed in 5m lengths. For orders over 5m, it will be shipped in two pieces.

All fabrics are hand dyed to order and will be sent out approximately ten weeks after the sale period ends on 3 October.

Makumo Textiles is made up of the husband and wife team, Tomota and Miki. Miki designs and Tomota hand dyes their textiles in a little atelier by the sea on an island in the south of Japan.

Designed, handprinted and made in Japan, Makumo Textiles philosophy is one of fun! They begin each of their designs with the aim to infuse the joy and excitement of life into them, they then use colour and lines to create their enchanting fabrics! FABRIC

Select your preferred fabric from the drop down menu:

• Double Gauze — Japanese speciality fabric. Two layers of muslin joined together with tiny tacks. Light weight and airy.
• Linen Cotton Lawn — Light weight, breathable and SO versatile. All the things you love about linen and cotton brought together.
• Shantung Cotton — A textured, sturdy mid weight. A beautiful ribbed effect created by the slub of the fibres.
• Chino — A twill weave and the perfect bottom weight for pants, including chinos!

NOTE

• Due to the nature of hand printing, there may be some cases of differences in colour, bleeding, alignment etc. There will also be a visible join mark where the design stencils begin and end.
• Please be aware that some screens will display colour different depending on their settings.
• Makumo Textiles commercial use guideline does not allow for the sale of goods using Makumo fabrics.
• A handling fee of ¥2,000 will be added to the shipping fee once per order at checkout.
