‘New Home’ is a striking, light weight polyester print by indie Japanese fabric design house Mannine.
See the dress Emi (of Just Add Fabric) made in the last two photos. You can read more about it on this blog post.
You will find many of the much loved quirky characters including the Warao brothers, Ms Kat holding her dinner bell (she likes to eat at the same time every day), Warao Mama is standing in side her house next to a picture of Warao Papa who is upstairs.
Living across the street from the Warao family is Mr Johndolasi (age 33, climbing the ladder) and his younger sister. He is a researcher and is working in developing different coloured varieties of edamame (soy beans). Mame the dog was a stray that he rescued and his main diet is now edamame. His younger sister, Ms Dondolasi (28, wearing the plaid vest and standing near Mame) loves to collect things you can wear in your head!
It is such a fun print with more to discover the closer you look. Even Ms Schnappviecher wearing Mannine fabric!
With the concept of wanting people to have fun with wearing her prints, textile designer Manri Kishimoto, debuted the playfully spirited Mannine brand in 2014/15 AW. She aims to design fabric that people will feel good wearing, so much so that they will want to take them on their holidays and adventures.
Mannine designs are all hand drawn by Manri Kishimoto and digitalised prior to printing.
Sold per panel.

I love that this fabric has great drape but isn’t so slippery that it makes it difficult to sew. The colors are vibrant and the print is so much fun. I also liked that I was able to wash the fabric on “gentle” in my machine, which makes it (for me) ideal for sewing garments.

I love this fabric! I showed off the panel print in a reversible short tunic dress. The fabric is vivid and lovely and easy to work with.
