‘Beach Family’ is a striking, mid weight polyester print by indie designer Mannine.

The detail in the hand drawn designs is amazing as are the backstories for every single character featured in the design.

You will find some of the much loved quirky characters including the Warao Obaachan (grandmother), Penguins, Robaudo and Robami donkeys, and Doguo B who is a Psychologist who loves Humus.

Alongside them are also some new seaside characters, including Surumme B (the blue squid) and Uni (the sea urchin) who are infatuated with each other and always by each other’s side! Surumme A (the pink squid) is a talented swimmer who loves Hitomi B (yellow starfish). Hitomi A (pink starfish) is her older sister. Urns the Turtle is 95 years old, has lots of friends and is very social. Kaji the fish moves with speed through the ocean and makes a living selling shiny things!

It is such a fun print with more to discover the closer you look. The characters are even wearing Mannine fabric!

With the concept of wanting people to have fun with wearing her prints, textile designer Manri Kishimoto, debuted the playfully spirited Mannine brand in 2014/15 AW. She aims to design fabric that people will feel good wearing, so much so that they will want to take them on their holidays and adventures.

Mannine designs are hand drawn by Manri Kishimoto and digitalised prior to printing.
